Babes' Fest

Here's to you Babes:

We went to high school together.
We went our separate ways.
Some stayed in that small Oklahoma town.
Some never came back. . .
Until our 35th high school reunion.
In that small Oklahoma town
A weekend of laughing, crying, reuniting.
Trying to relive a lifetime in a few hours.
We made a vow to stay in touch.
We did.
We laughed (hysterically)
We giggled (for no reason)
We trusted (without reservation)
We accepted (without condition)
There was understanding.
There were hugs, giggles, tears...
We called it Babes' Fest.
We made new memories.
We made a vow to stay in touch.
We will.
Here's to you, Babes.

Do you have a friend story to share? a quote? a poem?
Today, pick up the phone and call a friend.

"In my mind, I've made a scrapbook. . . a collage of memories formed in the comfort of friendship."

"On the journey of friendship, what we discover in each other opens our eyes of understanding."

woohoo! did you get to eat at Bad Brads? The Babes of the "babes fest" look mighty wild :) I am happy you had a great time! Our weather in Oklahoma has been perfect. I hope you got to enjoy it. Today its rainy, chilly, and dreary. Im not complaining tho, we need the rain.

Ive had the same best friend since 4th grade. She went to the public schools, I went to the Catholic school, I took many classes thru a 'share-time' at the public high school, ones that my private school did not offer or it was against Catholic beliefs. So when we were in high school, I saw more of her than our earlier school years.

Best friend L. is like a sister, she moved to Oklahoma with me in '89 after we finished college. She is the only 'family' I have in Oklahoma and vice versa. She is the kind of friend I can count on in any situation. She is the greatest friend anyone could ask for, I am very thankful she is mine and weve had many, many memories together.

She knows every dirty little secret I have, every skeleton in my closet, and what kind of a person I REALLY am, and she still LOVES me :)

Barngoddess: Yes, we made it to Bad Brad's. It was a wonderful time and I was so happy to meet the person who had spend so much time helping me with my blog...and McDreamy. Thank you for sharing your story about your friend.

A few years back when classmates.com was free, I was able to reconnect with someone that I knew in grade school. He wrote that he not have made it through school without the help of my best friend and my help. We made plans to meet at our 35th high school reunion. We met another elementary school classmate at the reunion. The three of us and spouses all had fun, e-mailed, and send Christmas cards all because of reconnecting on the Internet.

What a fun picture! I can just imagine it. I don't remember who I was with..but I remember one time being at a table of 3 ladies that were taking a "girls weekend" and had left their hubbies home. We chatted with them for a while and I remember thinking that that is such a good idea!!

Gawilli: Old friends...new friends...they are to be cherished.

Sunrunner: We had a wonderful time. That was back in May.

Claudia: If there had been three more at that table, it could very well have been The Babes.
